Need help here:
My M38 had a civvy T-90 when I got it (replaced the shift tower & lever for an M38 one, and it looks like the real deal now!). So I thought well, the transfer case will be either civvy or M38, right? Wrong! The castings & shift levers are all GPW & F-script, so I guess it's a WW2 transfer case (no wear at all inside, so maybe it's been a spare).
My question is, will the M38 speedo cable fit (I don't have one to check), or do I need to be looking for a different type? And if so, what? I have an M38 speedo unit, btw.....
Thanks in advance,
Owen. _________________ Owen

Take a look at speedo drive gear and sleeve. See my attached build. My transfer case is CJ and I was able to use the correct M38 drive gear with it. The socket for the M38 speedo cable is square. I am not sure what the drive gear looks like on the GPW case.

Hey, thanks for the info & great photos. I'm working away from home at the moment, so I'm stuck in a hotel on the UK's east coast. You won't believe how cold these seaside towns are in February. But hey, the beer's nice!
I'll try to get some photos of the GPW transfer case & gear drive over the weekend......
