Was there a firs aid kit

The M38 bracket was to the right of the battery box up under the dash - a hinged plate held at one end by a threaded J bolt.

I'm not sure about the M38A1.

Since the factory did not supply a place to mount it and the military did not develop any standardized mounting arrangement for it there is no correct or incorrect way.

Seems my dad said they just painted an ammo box with the red crosses and made it a first aid kit in Vietnam.

Has anyone done this?

Was it generally painted white with red crosses?
