Asked the same question here a couple of weeks ago and was advised to pull motor and tranny together, good advise but this weekend I pulled my tranny repaired it and put it back. You will need a good tranny jack and a very good friend... Get your jeep jacked up at least a foot, jack up the end of the motor behind the behind the bell housing, open the small plate on top of the bellhousing, remove the cable and the throwout bearing arm, jack up and stabilize the tranny and unbolt the driveshafts and unbolt the four bolts on the tranny. You also have to remove the cluch linkage and a few other things of course. Lots of luck..it not as bad as it seems.
