I am looking for a pair of original Willys jeep steps off a CJ - I want them for my M38. I know, before anyone says it, the M38 didn't have steps. Old guys have a little difficulty these days mounting a jeep. You'll notice I didn't actually say in that last sentence that I was an old guy. If you have a CJ3A, B or CJ5 as a parts jeep and have steps that you might want to part with, please message me. I know the ones off a CJ3A, B will fit and I think they were the same on the CJ5. I don't know if they were offered on the CJ2A, but if they were I am sure they too will fit.

the repros I have seen don't look quite right - I think it is the diamond shape raised on the old foot boards - the repros have round raised - catches your eye. I'll have to get one those kits, if I can't find used ones - I'd guess most steps are junked on parts jeeps. Rock crawler fellows don't use them and the military guys don't either. I used to have 2 CJ2As and a CJ5 parts jeeps - I know I had steps. I got rid of all that stuff a few years ago thinking my jeep days were over. Just can't slid in under the wheel stepping off the ground and the little fender step in too far forward.

When you go to get the step kit see that you get the set to suit your chassie as the early CJ 5 and and older jeeps had a parralel chassie where the latter CJ 5 jeeps etc had a tapered chassie. so if you get the wrong kit you will have to modify the brace that goes from the step to the chassie.
