I have a late M38 (May /52) am trying to determine correct routing of the 4 wires going to the headlight dimmer switch. Portions of the original harness was cut up and modified by PO and I am rebuilding it. Cant find any clear pictures in albums or manuals of routing to the dimmer. Do the wires go down the firewall (as part of the taillight harness) and thru the top hole in the body gusset over to dimmer or do they split off from the fender harness near where the fender meets the body? Or something else?
Thanks

The front lighting harness carries the dimmer wires. They leave the front lighting harness right after it leaves the firewall and before the first clip on the driver's fender.
