I got it off - wasn't easy. What worked and what didn't. CRC Freeze-off did nothing that I could tell, in fact penetrating oil didn't get in to the nipple in the block. When I did get it out it was dry as a bone. I think heat worked - it least I was able or move it a very little, after Wes's heat procedure. The thin wedge might have started the outward movement - can't say for sure. The cable around the distributor body up to a pulley at the angle of the the distributor with weight (an old engine block) didn't help and got in the way of swinging a hammer. A Vise-Grip chain wrench worked as long as I taped the lever so it didn't spring open and using a heavy single jack sledge working back and forth a hundred times loosened, but I still couldn't pull it out. A carpenter's floor bar on the top with a long pipe hooked to the cable, pulley and the weight - that kept outward pressure while I worked it back and forth with the chain wrench. If I had help I guess I wouldn't have needed the weight rig. Thanks all for the ideas.

Now I have to find a replacement or a rebuilt unit - this core is ok (other then I took the data plate off so it wouldn't get bitched up any worse). There is I guy on the net that specializes in rebuilding.
