Here are some pics to maybe give someone an idea or to copy in order to use M151 motors on your M38 or maybe to just give the ok to call me bubba. Embarassed

This clears the hood when the windshield is folded down (at least on mine).

I cut a 3/4" section out of the drive shaft and 5/8" off of the end of the brass outer shaft. After I welded the shaft back together, ground it back round and put it back together. On the 1st motor, I had removed the manual arm in order to remove the o-ring that sits right behind it because I thought the weld heat might get to it. On the 2nd one, I just left all that on and hit it with a weld at a time and dunked it in water before the heat could go anywhere.
I decided to just use the arms the previous owner had since they fit the round drive gear end (I don't know what it is called Confused ). I just need to paint them. I think they still sell that size arm to.
Cheers,
Brett

Good job Bretto! Nope, you can call me Bubba - I just hacked off the shafts and bracket, ground the shaft diameter down and threaded it. I felt the brass nuts were just going to strip out before I put enough torque on them, so I put regular lock nuts on and painted them. It works and you really wouldn't notice them if you're not looking for the acorn nuts. I didnt reverse my manual lever so that I could have the rounded part of the motor down like the originals either. They work good though!

I thought I would follow up and show the rest of my M151 wiper set up. I know it's not stock so forgive me but I think it looks decent enough and is functional.
The hard line is 1/4" OD brake line. For the driver's side, I tapped into and added a port to the line by fishmouthing and soldering a small piece of tubing in over a hole I drilled in the main line. The 1/4" compression fitting needle valve came from the hardware store. Rubber line is heavy walled 5/32" ID vacuum line
At this point I don't know what I'm going to do with the intake vent ports of the wipers. I dont have a stock air cleaner either. Maybe down the road I can modify the aircleaner so I can add it to that. I think I'm just going to cap them off and if I need the wipers, I can just pull them off. To be honest, I'm betting I never have to use the wipers but they are there.
