Hello ! New guy signing in for the first time ! A little about myself and my "Jeeps". I live in the North West of England run a Garage and have recently bought myself two M38A1's. The better of the 2 has a serial number of 8405 32870TH and was used in Thailand ? The other is Dutch and is in very poor shape. I hope to be restoring them both. Does anyone have any information about the Thai models ? I cannot find any info anywhere. It has flat front fenders and the rear wheel arches have flat tops. Any help would be much appreciated.
thanks
(Cheeto.)
Welcome to the website. I am sure someone will know more about M38A1's in Thialand. I bet Wes could shed some light on that as he was in southeast asia during the 60's or 70's.

Hi cheeto! An M38A1 owner? Great! We can always use reinforcements. The flat-fender and flat-top wheel arches sound kinda like an M151. Are the grille slats horizontal or vertical? And we always enjoys pictures if you have some. _________________ Support our troops, past and present.

The stuff out of Thailand was probably military surplus released to the Thais in the 70's and early 80's. The 8405 32870 serial sounds more like an M606A1 than any M38A1 numbers. The flat fender unit is most likely an M151.
