I went dual filament also. Used the B/O doors and removed the "delta"
part-looks authentic and serves dual purpose. _________________ keep 'em rollin'

Does your door have a white lense now without the cat eyes? _________________ Tropical Veteran

No, Ken, it's clear with an amber (painted) lamp.
I removed the entire "cat eye" plate and left the clear shell only. _________________ keep 'em rollin'

Well, that is very bright.
I have to check the auto parts store for the dual contact socket.
And then locate the dual filament 24 volt bulbs.
I wonder if they are available thru the local parts stores? _________________ Tropical Veteran

There is not enough height in the stock receptacle for the autozone guts.
That Interlight socket SOCKET-L905-2 BA15D SOCKET looks like a two contact but the pin ears are the same height indicating it is a externally grounded single filament lamp socket. You will need an offset pin ear slot height to index the correct bright/dim dual filament lamp.
This is what you have to work with:

I used sockets from Oreilly. Im running 12V so it was easy to find amber dual filament bulbs. I think RickG was able to round up some 24V ambers. I did a similar mod to the rears that you can see on my photo gallery.

Brett fab'd up the o'reilly sockets by welding on the tabs, he made me up
a set too (thx, bro). 24V dual filament lamps n/a in amber so i painted
them w/testor stained glass yellow spray. So far no evidence of the
paint peeling or fading due to heat etc. _________________ keep 'em rollin'

Amber lamps are the easiest way to go and you'll have a more authentic
look because the lenses will still be clear or opaque unless lit or flashing. _________________ keep 'em rollin'

24V dual filament clear lamp #1662
http://www.bulbtown.com/
here's my 1662 after a couple of shots of krylon
stained glass yellow(available @ any hobby shop
for about 4 bucks)
The 1662 24v will plug into any socket that accepts the 1157 12v lamp. _________________ keep 'em rollin'
