Iīve got some new cushion for my M38 and want to replace the old stuff which was from the Swiss Army (plastic coating).
Now my question, do I need the seat pans or do they only make sense for original seats to keep the springs on place? I donīt have the original seat cover this is why I`m asking for. The new seats have a wooden bottom (pressboard) so I thought I can leave the seat pans (they are a little smaller than the bottom)?
You are correct in assuming the steel seat pans are only there to hold all the loose parts together. If your new seats have built in hard bottoms then fasten those directly to the seat frame. _________________ Wes K
