Thanks in advance guys, does the brake master cylinder cap have a O ring rubber gasket or a copper flat gasket. Couldnt really tell in the manual but it looks like a rubber O ring. The jeep is a m38. Thanks again

The parts manual, ORD 9 SNL G-740, specifies P/N 7373354, but ONLY on the drawing, the actual entry describing it is not to be found (strange)!

However, if you search the internet, it comes up as:

AAGR Cross-Sectional Shape Style Rectangular metal
ABKV Outside Diameter 1.500 inches nominal
ABVL Aperture Diameter 1.266 inches nominal
ADVM Cross-Sectional Thickness 0.064 inches nominal
MATT Material Copper alloy overall
STYL Style Designator Circular

Based on my (somewhat poor) memory, that sounds about right!

Mine has a copper washer:

There's two different gaskets listed on p.248 of the ORD 9 (7409316 & 7373354), depending on wether you have the aluminium or cast iron master cylinder. Like Bill says, no definite info on the material.
