I have finally got some paint on my m38. I have the underside painted 24087. The rest is going Strata blue. I only painted the bottom OD because I had a gallon and thought why not use it. Of course it took now where near a gallon to do the udnerside of the tub and the firewall. Not a show jeep but she will look decent and run well. did not fix the dents in the tub, just got rid of the rust.

I hope to spray some color later today. I have a wedding to go to right now. I will take pics when I get it done. It is not going to be the best looking m38 but she should look good until you get reall close. I have not taken any of the dents out. I just removed the rust.

Not a bad first paint job. I do have a few runs I need to figure out how to fix but overall I am very happy.

I need to get rid of those cj wheels and get the m38 wheels I have in the garage painted and have the tires mounted. I have half a mind to go up again next weekend but I dont know if the wife would like that. The jeep is 3 hours north of where I live.

A six-hour round trip doesn't leave much time (or energy) for working on the jeep! That's real dedication. And as for leaving a few dents in (which sure don't show in the pics), mine's the same. I kinda like it that way instead of trying to make it perfect. Good luck with the wife and the remaining work. Smile

Looks good Bill! Very Happy

I like that shed too! Shocked

I like Blue M38's. Grey and Blue are unique military colors for jeeps and you don't see them a lot.

Cool

I did the same regarding the dents. The metal was ok, except for the dents, and since it's part of the jeep's history, why not leave them on?

Mind you, no huge dents on the jeep, just your usual dings...

I gotta post pics... it's been a long, 2 years, working only 1 or 2 staurdays a month alone... Crying or Very sad

Best regards,

Jorge

Didnt go up north to work on my jeep last weekend. Now I am booked solid until the end of august so nothing will get done until then. I am the camp director at our Cub Camp, Camp Carpenter.
