I know I have read its purpose but cant find and cant remember. What is the bracket for that is welded to the lower portion of the frame just below the bolted vent plate. I seem to think it was for the rifle rack. If so, does the rack just rest against it or does it also bolt to it.

Without measuring I'd say theres a 1/4" gap there. I've perused
my pubs and see no description or notations for the bracket.
There's no hole in the bracket for bolting.

The bracket is, however, aligned to the forward oval hole in the bottom of the rifle rack just begging for a rubber plugged bumper there.
I wonder if anyone has seen a bumper there? I'm sure others will weigh in.

Rick, I recall a very long winded thread on the G503 on the rifle scabbard mount and the many small rubber bumpers and pads that went with it.

No offense intended to anyone on the G, Wes, but I don't spend much
time there-"Too many Generals and too few Grunts".

I rarely post there anymore but I do occasionally peruse the site. Yes it is full of cyber bullys but it still possesses a lot of useful info.
