Thought I'd post my restoration blog as an attempt to get myself motivated again after a long spell of not getting much done. Admittedly, I've been hit or miss on postings, but plan to be much better as a means of measuring my own progress. Getting to share that progress with a community I respect via the web is a bonus, as I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching others as they make progress on their projects (Bob, I feel your pain on getting a tub & fenders to fit). As others have inspired me, I hope to inspire others.

Making some restoration progress, updated the blog with new notes & pictures. I'd post a picture here, but I'm having difficulties getting the pics in the blog to enlarge in another browser so I can copy the address.
Just as an FYI, be informed that this is not a frame-off restoration, just a cosmetic & mechanical restoration to a condition that will allow for parade & local vehicle show activity.

Hey Galen,
Looks pretty spiffy! Can't wait to see it done.
I think we all know about having good speedy days and bad slow days. But hey, at least youre moving in the right direction!
I get frustrated as well with fast and slow days. Infact, Im nearly complete my A1 (brake lines to run yet, but everything mechanical is in place -- jus got some wiring to do which will hopefully will be knocked out this weekend). Im excited that its nearly done after a year and a half, but boy, the last 10% of work seems to take up all of the time! _________________ Bob Collins

I too, like to observe others progress as it helps me to keep going.
I also know how those dry spells of nonproductiveness can be. I worked on my tub the last 2 days and I am extremely close to painting it.
I have not worked on my M38 much over the last 6 months!
I don't have a good reason why, but you know the usual suspects: work, family, apathy, etc.
Sometimes you hit a spot where you put in a lot of work, but you don't see much progress, so you stop for a while (usually right before the light at the end of the tunnel comes on).
That's what is good about getting on to the web and talking to your friends about your projects. It inspires you.
I need to update some photos of my progress to my photo gallery.
I'll see what I can do! _________________ Ryan Miller

Galen, Looking good! You are making good progress!
Neat website too. I enjoyed hearing the history behind the A1. Really brings these things to life. And that CJ2A WOW! I can't believe what it looked like before the restoration what a transformation!

Keep it up, looks good, my day turned out to be DIY day not a jeep restore day, Gutted. Found myself fitting a new central heating rad and getting wet in the process. _________________ Cheers Chris

Last picture of progress on my A1 . . . will have to suspend work for a while, as I've put in storage at Dad's farm due to the move to Florida. It's all in the blog update . . . http://galensm38a1restoration.blogspot.com/

No, I've brought down my other jeep, the '47 CJ2A with the M38 tub & windshield. That's the jeep my Dad & I have put the most work into, & I really want to get it finished within the next year so I can just enjoy it, outside of the regular tinkering that goes on just to keep them up & running. I think I've posted pics of it before, but here's some more just in case . . .
