The state of Texas requires us to display an "antique plate" on cars older than 25 years.. Any ideas on where and how to mount this plate on a M38? |

I simply bolt a length of angle iron (galvanized) to the outer bottom existing holes of the gas can carrier. The license plate bolts to it. No modification to the Jeep or parts that way. The plate then hangs under the gas can out of the way. John |

I lived in Texas. You only need that plate if don't want to get the vehicle inspected. At inspection, they only require what the vehicle rolled out of the factory with. No turn signals, seat belts, or catalytic converter required. _________________ 1952 M38A1

Texas will also allow you to register you vehicle using the vehicle/hood number and then you don't have to display the antique plate. You would still be exempt from the inspection law. However you are only exempt from the requirement to have it inspected, it must still be able to pass inspection if stopped. There are also some restrictions on the use of the vehicle with the antique registration whether you use the plate of the hood number. _________________ R G Mutchler

Like Oilleaker said - takes 15 minutes to cut and bolt on. Sorry, I didn't take a close up. BTW - that's nice Bretto!
