I'm having a problem finding information on the gas pedal leakage. the gas pedal is there and a rod going through the fire wall. but I cant seem to find a diagram of where it goes from there or what it is linked to. I run it from the throttle (which works fine). I need to find out what parts I need.
any help would be greatly appreciated

E-Man,
Have you looked at the downloads page with all of the parts and
diagrams? Pretty sure they show you what you are looking for.

There is a bracket which bolts to the back left rear of the engine. The rod from the pedal attaches to another rod that is hinged on that bracket.

When you push on the gas pedal the rod from the pedal moves forward, and the rod attached to the hinge moves backwards above the hinge, actuating the throttle rod on the carburetor.

I tried to take a photo but it is dark, and that portion of my engine is not pristine enough for a clear photo.

Here is an image from Wes' photo pages:

Hope this helps.
Brian

Two things here guys.

1-I moved this one topic technical question from the projects page to the technical forum. The project page is where each guy who wants to chronicle his restoration can start one thread just for his jeep and pass on his jeeps project progress to interested readers by adding to the thread. Let's keep the individual technical questions on the technical forum where they get more exposure, and you get more replies and everyone gets more information.

2-Eagle 64, if you will open your profile and enter your jeep model in your signature it will be displayed automatically in all your posts just like 4x4m38's shows up as 1950 M38 in his signature block on all of his posts. This way we do not have to guess what model or provide an answer to your question for each model jeep. Also see that Brian also includes his first name in his signature block which personalizes his post more and most members prefer to address folks by a real 1st name and not the sometimes crazy CB handles listed as User ID's.

Now on to an answer to your question. You will find we have a "Member's Photo Albums" page. Go there. The second album there is mine. In it are several hundred technical photos and illustrations

http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?set_albumName=Wes-Knettle&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php

On page 1 of my album you will see "M38 Fuel System" sub-album.
http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?set_albumName=album83&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php

And shortly after that "M38A1 Fuel System" sub-album.

The drawings from the appropriate Parts Manual for each jeep are there as are detailed routing photos for each.

The parts manuals are free for you to download on our "Downloads" page:

I usually make it there. I camp down by the south east gate. Black Chevy silverado with a slide-in camper.
