Aaron;

It appears as tho the seal in your photo was installed backwards. I believe the spring should be on the inside of the housing.

For those of you who have never bought speedi-sleeves, they are expensive! Cheapest I could find in town was $32 per sleeve.

I seemed to have forgotten to place this gasket behind this pinion seal when I installed it. I need some opinions on whether I should remove the seal (destroying it in the process) and put a seal there with the gasket?

I see a lot of sealant oozing out around the new seal. The seal was only supposed to get a light film of sealant around it's outer rim. If you have gotten sealant on the side of the seal facing in then you have already sealed it and can get by without the paper gasket. In other words if you crewed up twice you are in good shape. Wink

Wes, that sealant you see was on the seal was on it already in the package. It is dry and am guessing is from the manufacture of the seal.

I did not put any type of sealant on the seal when installing it. Should I remove and add sealant and or gasket?

It's up to you. You may get lucky and there will be no leak or you may get unlucky and have to pull the yoke again. Don't forget that torque figure for the yoke nut!

You might get by with a good smear of RTV around the perimeter. Just get it real clean and work the RTV into the joint all around.
