I am getting tired of ‘Bubba’. The last thing I had to fix really got to me. It didn’t help that it was already 95 degrees in the garage. The glove box door at some time fell off of its hinge. Well Bubba decided to braise the hinge plate back to the glove box door. Not a bad idea in of its self. But the job is really crapy and big lumps of brass looking material. You can’t even see the outline of the hinge plate. So I took a small cutting wheel and cut along the edge of the hinge plate. Well it still didn’t come off so I took my cutting torch and heated it and was able to get the joint to start bending. I took a chisel and got it behind the hinge plate of the door and got the plate off. Well a small corner of the plate stayed on the door. Argh! So I was so hot after that I just left it to cool off and comeback later and figure out what to do.

Bubba can do a lot of work that leaves us totally frustrated! Crying or Very sad

I would think that once you get that brazing stuff off, you could reattach the corner piece.

Sometimes I get frustrated and just let things set for a week or two until the heat cools off or I cool off and can hit it again from a fresh attitude.

good luck! Cool

Yes I am going to let it sit. Mosty due to the super hot weather. I plan on extracting the corner piece and seeing about welding it. Then I plan on drilling out the spot welds and doing it right. If it dosen't turn out I can just find a replacment. That's what is so good about these old Jeeps! Cool
