As to the Texas Inspection Sticker. If you register the vehicle as an antique (25yrs or older) you are exempt from the inspection law. Additionally the plates will cost you $40 for 4 or 5 years. There are some restrictions with this type of registration but the most important is you can't use the vehicle to commute to work. I checked the Antique and Former Military Vehicle regs.
Only trips for inspection, service, or maintenance are allowed
besides shows, parades, etc. no running down to Sonic on a
Saturday afternoon or taking the grand kids for a ride.
