Oh the joys of working on Jeeps in the summer.

The 98 degree days. The wonderful smell of the gear lube filling the garage. The wearing of the paint respirator until moisture runs out the exhale vent. The roar of the ventilator fans with the swirls of dust and debris caused thereby. The wrestling of the tranny / transfer case, with it winning by rolling over on my big toe protected by only by my sandal. The evaporation of the paint remover before it dissolves the paint. The guessing at the reducer to keep the paint from drying before it touches the surface. The week it takes to dry out the blasting sand to keep it from clumping. The dogs laying on the concrete floor with their tongues hanging out that refuse to move out of the way. The metal that rusts 10 min after you touch it. The emptying of the compressor water separator for the 100th time. The bees that make trips to the dog bowl water you had put out to get them to move. The 3rd tee shirt you wore that day cause your wife said two times you were ‘too nasty’. But it is all worth it when you stand there and see the frame and body taking shape with your son getting excited saying ‘Wow it is coming to life!!’

What’s some more fun stuff???

You left out the mosquitoes and biting files we have in the south. You always start to wonder if its all worth it until the vehicle starts going back together.

The sound of the Mustang as it dives out the sky over your jeep, hot sunshine on your face. The gorgous wing walker dismouting from the Stearman wing in tight cat suit! See my latest pics of Branscombe airday in the gallery! Embarassed Wink

You Brits sure know how to have fun. Looks like a good time!

This summer is a real scorcher. Every time I go out of the house in the afternoon if feels like an oven.

Sandblsting M100 axle parts in the garage, it is only 97 degrees F as compared to the 105 outside... Very Happy

Got it done though... Now for the Spring brackets and hardware... Smile

Driving the jeep around in this stuff gets lots of crazy looks, "Hey fool "I" have AC in my car; what you doing driving that thing?"... Very Happy

Temps should start to drop in a couple of weeks then the fun can start again...
