My '51 M38 driver seat frame has three small holes running across the top of the back rest, in the pan, not the tube. Does anyone know what those holes are for?

Thanks.

Sorry, it was the passenger seat frame.

Maybe someone's attempt to attach a seat pad. There shouldn't be holes in it. The stock seat back canvas was screwed around the perimeter of the tube frame. You probably have those holes?

Yep, the cushion holes are in the tube as they should be. These other holes appear to be original, precisely and accurately layed out. I was thinking they might have been for some sort of map pouch or something?
