I was looking for wireless signal lights for my m38a1 and found a company called classic safety they are on line under smartsignals.com I have been chasing this guy for two years and he's always out of stock or some other excuse the lights look great and have heavy magnets so they are supposed to be easy to put on and remove. Has anyone ever dealt with him or is he just bull, check out the website. on the other hand does anyone know where wireless signals might be gotten. thanks, Gene S.

Gene, I've been looking at these too. It looks like something that would go great with our old jeeps. I too though have been having problems contacting or getting responses from the company. I'm going to keep trying as these are about as good as I have found.

With a factory class jeep I can understand the interest in these.

For the motor pool class and daily drivers I see the many choices that are correct for the vintage MV that are all under $100 if you are patient and shop well. By the early 60's just about all these MV's were sprouting military field installed turn signals. There are two military kits still on the market and several civilian 12 & 24 volt kits as well. These become an integral part of the jeep. They are not lost one lamp at a time on bumpy roads, or stolen from your jeeps tool box at a car show or having their special $30 lithium batteries run down and you have to do with out your system for a few weeks while you send them to the fellow everyone is having a hard time locating and communicating with.

I did a bit of Googling on this topic and since at least 2013 everyone who commented on these say the company owner was extremely difficult to get a hold of and was always backordering requests.

This is the most popular military kit

This is the other military kit which is a little more expensive and difficult to find.

A civvy Signalstat system

Hi; Wes I wanted to keep my 55 38a1 as it was so I looked for something portable and found this co. smartsignals.com. too bad this guy seems to be a fake. I have been trying to deal with him for over 2 years and even sent in a 25.00 deposit which at least they refunded but they never return a call
so I guess I'll probably get wired (no pun) instead. I just don't get his reason for advertising this if he doesn't want to sell. Gene S.

Probably a great thinker & idea guy and a lousy businessman! There is another out there as well. Easy-On Wireless Lighting that offers tail only wireless system but the price is still up at $300.

Here you can see the two lamps and the remote control

The Signal Stat 920 is $75. You can use velcro to secure it to the column. Add a plastic 8 or 10 pin molex plug up behind the dash out of site. Mount the flasher up high behind the dash out of site. Run the left and right rear turn signal/stop power wires to a couple of the unused pins on your trailer receptacle. Get an old trailer harness plug and run the two wires and a ground (From the trailer receptacles original ground pin) to the two magnetic mount lamps that you stick on the gas can and the spare wheel. Then you can unzip the velcro, unplug the molex and hide the switch assy in your stuff box at the show then at the rear unplug the trailer plug and stuff both lamps and the short harness with plug in your stuff box. Voila! Stock Jeep with original BO style rear lamps yet a worry free drive to and from the show!.

The SS920 lever switch must be grounded for proper operation. If the removable show option is employed run an additional ground wire from the case to molex to ground.

All you need to do to maintain original look is wire the trailer receptacle and use a set of magnetic towing lights. You would have to make an adapter or plug end for them.

And add a turnsignal switch & flasher up front or the two added lamps would only do the same thing the two stock lamps are doing. My entry above includes the switch and flasher and directs exactly what you just said for the rear.
