I have been looking into adding turn signals to my M38A1. I searched for turn signals and got no hits so thought I would surface the issue

I see the signal arm and flasher module are available for M151. Do these two items work well in a modification?

I am hoping to install amber LED lights in existing front black-out lights and LED bulbs in the rear. I supposed I might need to convert the right side tailight assemble to a drivers side type.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

All the help in the past on vent lines and heat shields on exhaust stack have been great.

Thanks so much
Mike D

Mike,
This is what I get when I type "turn signals" into the search engine:
http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?name=Forums&file=search&mode=results

Don't use the "Search Articles" window at the left.
Go to the bar above with Forum FAQ and right next to it is a button for the search engine.

Day and night.

Take care,
Brian

Thanks for the tip. I load the screen under the search next to FAQ just as you indicated in your message and search line doesnt let me type in anything. I know it must be simple but somehow, I can
If I cant solve this I will never be able to do the turn signals.
I'll keep poking at the site but not sure why the hangup

Mike,
That's weird. I just clicked on the search icon and the search
page came up. I tried typing in the top window and no prob.

Worst case go to Wes' pages as he suggested and look at his
turn signal pages.

Or just go to my post and click on my search results and look at them.

Mike,

You don't have to solve the search puzzle to get turn signals. All the info you need is right where I told you to go get it! Both early & late system manuals are there.

Mikeabn - to answer your original question - yes, you can use a military M-series electronic turn signal system on your jeep. My M38A1 had the system when I bought it and I added one to my M38 when I installed a new wiring harness. The harness was made with the needed connections - all I added was the flasher and turn signal switch on the steering column. Originally, I converted the blackout running lights to a amber lens but later added separate M151-style lamp housings to the fenders so I could still show the original blackout lights. The right rear stoplight housing was converted by adding a left housing. I also used the full red gama goat style rear lenses for better visibility. Since the system was used on a number of M-series vehicles, parts are still available.

Got the system. So much there my head is swimming
Thanks for the patience from everyone
