found hood number in interesting place, and more blue paint

Post by Bill_F »

I found the hood number in a very interested place today. I was working on the front seats and was taking off the covers, two layers of canvas then a layer of vinyl which I left in place. on the bottom cushion vinyl cover it is marked US Army registration number 20*****, which matches the hood number found on the jeep, the bad news is the seats belonged to the jeep I sold Rick L.

Now on to my jeep, replacing the front passenger side floor pan we found more blue paint, this time in the tool box on the bottom side of the box itself, not the floor but the box. I am still thinking this jeep at least the tub left the factory blue, I have not found any green paint on the tub at all. I did not take any pics yestarday of the floor replacement.

Bill,

That is a very neat find on the hood numbers!

Sounds like you are making good progress.

Bill,
Can you post pics of the bottom cushion vinyl cover and bottom of tool box where you found the hood number. Actually, I am also curious to know about my jeep's hood number.
