Car Show's Ft Lauderdale

Post by GIJOE290 »

Hi Gang,

I was away on business on Ft. Lauderdale from 12/28/05 until 2/20/06. And while I was down there, I found a a car auction, and county sponsered "awesome truck event", and a car show to kill time at.

Only saw three jeeps. One at the auction & truck event both pictured. And the other one I saw on Sunday, driving around. I spotted an M38A1 at a CVS pharmacy and I didn't have my camera with me. Note to self! ALWAYS take camera with you where-ever you go.

Anyway, I wanted to share the pictures with ya'll. Hey Ryan there are some muscle car's pictured for ya buddy.

Oh, I almost forgot. The place where I was working at sits under the flight path / pattern of the Opa Locka Airport. All day long you here Radial engines whirling overhead 1000+/- ft. Love that sound; and it made my time at work tolerable.

So, I naturally HAD to go visit Opa Locka Airport one Sunday. Saw lots of DC-3, DC-4 and Convair's I think...? Wes..Anyone? On my visit there I took a flight lesson too, went and sightsaw Miami, Miami Beach and the Everglades. It was a good day! :D

David,

Cool photos!

I like that Model A roadster pickup. My dad is working on a 29 roadster pickup a lot like that one.

When you were in the DFW area, did you ever check out the museum over in Addison, TX just north of Dallas (Cavenagh Spelling?).

They have a B25, spitfire, corsair, etc. etc.

Hey Ryan,

Thanks! He's working on a 29? Awesome! Post pictures when you can. 8)

Regretably no, I didn't make it out there; wish I had though... :(

http://www.cavanaughflightmuseum.com/ Yeah, I'd say they have some great looking stuff. :)

I did make it down to the Lonestar museum in Galveston though. I took my first long distance flight in 4seat Mooney, as a passenger. It was with a local flying club, we flew from Redbird to Shoals Airport, then a short walk over to the museum.
