f134 ventilation
I have two f134 engines one a civvy the other military. I see that the military version has a lower ventilation system vs the civvy so would I need to remove that system and add it to my civvy engine or is the civvy lower half ventilated in another way such as through the dip stick tube? I also notice the military valve cover has a ventilation fitting vs the civvy version and the dip stick tube has two fittings vs one on the civvy. So the civvy engine is obviously designed different so I guess my question is is there any benefit to switching the military ventilation parts onto my civvy engine or should I just leave well enough alone? The civvy engine is the one I am using in my project as the military engine is froze up.

Use of the vent/fording system is up to you. If you want a class resto that is factory correct then match your engine to the vent/fording parts that apply to your jeep's serial number. If accuracy is not an important issue then ignore them.

Wes are you saying that the lower ventilation system is only used in conjunction with the fording system? I was led to believe that this was also to vent the crankcase to prevent blowing any seals and to prevent oil leaks. So if that is not the case and I do not need the lower ventilation system do I only need the vent hose that is attached to the dip stick tube for crankcase ventilation?

No, that is now what I said. I will paraphrase this time. Either the civvy or the military vent system will do the same job as a lower crankcase vent. The civvy won't do the military fording system requirement.
So if you are not interested in accuracy then either will work for you and it's your choice.
