Don,
The Army mod uses a right rear light in place of the left, so you have two the same. Wes has plenty of original documentation and step by step instructions.

And a common driver mod is to just replace the original rear light covers with Gamna Goat covers. They are full width red lenses for more visibility.

Beauty is, you just use a screwdriver to change them.

Take care,

Hi Ron.
At this point i’m just blowing smoke.... need to dig into the threads and albums more..... wouldn’t want to embarrass myself ..... again. :)

I would like to keep my rear cans unaltered.

Take a look at the Turn Signals file in Wes’ photo pages.

You can do that in your chair with a toddy.

Great reading.

Here’s a link from Wes’ pages.

You end up with two rear lights the same. You don’t have to change the doors, but you can very easily for better visibility. Simple to change back.

Choices and decisions about turn signals with or without black-out lights will pile up fast.
Remember to measure twice and cut once.

Don,

Why not just open a restoration project thread like all the others have done and keep this board in proper service as a short and sweet technical inquiry and reply system?
