No problem. I really wanted to build a rotisserie but the dolly worked perfect.

I'm having trouble fitting my gas tank. The floor is a bit warped causing the back of the tank to sit a bit high. Looks like the seat will hit the fuel line. I haven't figured that part out yet. Until then, I decided to use an elevator bolt under the gas tank since the regular bolt was interfering with the bottom of the gas tank.


Picture of the NOS sending unit and repro fuel pick-up. I guess I need to cut and flare the fuel line to the tank. Anyone else buy a fuel line kit that needs cut/flare of this line?

Making slow progress on my vent lines. I still need to run the transfer case, master cylinder, and gas tank lines. See the pictures below of the wiper tee to distributor vent line. There is enough material there to rotate the distributor when the time comes. I haven't been able to find a suitable clip to the top of the head. The spark plug wires aren't correct but they'll have to do until I can save up for the correct plug wires.

I got my transfer case vent line installed along with a few other odds and ends.

That is looking good!
On the vent lines watch the transfer case fluid levels, a lot of times you can get a slow leak from the transmission into the transfer case and then fluid gets sucked up more easily into the air cleaner.

I ended up not tightening my lines at the air cleaner, just hand tight and I check the transfer case fluid once a year.

which reminds me I need to check my transfer and transmission fluid levels!

Thanks for the tip Ryan. Would loosening the fittings have any effect on the operation of the wiper motors?

I only loosened the ones at the air cleaner. There should be another vacuum fitting off the manifold if I remember correctly that provides extra vacuum for the wipers. The wipers still work, but to be honest I don't drive in the rain so I have not used the wipers in a long time.

Thanks Wes. I was more concerned about wiper line T on this diagram. If I loosened the fitting would it effect wiper motor operation?

Your project is looking good and I'm enjoying following along!

I have two comments...

1. My new fuel line kit came with the lines all flared and with the welting installed. I believe I got it from 1/4 Ton & Military.

2. I discovered that the tub mounting bolt under the gas tank (where you put the elevator bolt) should be installed from the bottom up and that there is a captured nut welded inside the hat channel. The bolt should be short enough so it doesn't extend above the floor level and interfere with the tank. In my case someone had drilled through the captured nut destroying it, so I cut a access panel out of the floor keeping the cuts inside the hat channel and only cutting three sides . Then I peeled it open, removed the old nut, cleaned the hat channel, welded in a new nut and folded the floor back in place and welded it back up. Because the cuts were inside the hat channel you can't see the repair when looking at it from under the Jeep.

I got my fuel line kit from Army Jeep Parts. I usually buy from MWM.

I think it's too late to modify my floor under the gas tank. I'll stick with the elevator bolt since it's done.

Hopefully I'll get some work done over Thanksgiving.
