Getting Closer and closer. I finished all my vent lines and got the tubing bent and painted for the wiper motors last week end. I painted my wiper motors. They sound good but I'll have to see how they work. Gauge panel is done but I might swap out the amp gauge.

Gas tank is ready for gas. I'll put these lockers on when I rebuild the brake cylinders.

Very nice! Great photo's, please keep them coming.

I noticed your gas cap is the non-vented type. That will probably work fine provided the gas tank vent line runs to the air filter, but pretty sure the M38 SNL calls for the cap that's either vented or has the vent valve (open or closed) on it.

Good luck!

Not sure how much you're into building your M38 by the book (it appears that you are!), but I also notice that your throttle cable on the dash has the letters "THROTTLE" printed vertically, which I believe are M35 or M37 style. Throttle cables for the M38 are printed horizontally like this one:

Thanks guys. I have a vented gas cap that I can paint and swap out as time permits. As far as the throttle cable, I will most likely order one when I replace the amp gauge.

Heck, Ron, the motor pool guys swapped it out when they broke the end off the original servicing the carb!

Lol!

I sure hope you teach that girl to drive in that beautiful M38. If they learn on a stick it’s easy transitioning to auto. Plus, “It’s my Dad’s jeep. It can run in 78 inches of water and is airborne qualified. Oh, and the manual has a chapter on how to destroy it using explosives, gunfire or burning to keep the enemy from using it.......What do you drive?”

I'll probably change out the throttle cable. It's low on the priority list right now though.

Your Jeep is looking mighty nice! A lot of hard work went into it and it shows!

I changed the amp gauge and installed my gauge panel. I also grease the fittings and put gear oil in the axles, transmission and transfer case. I was missing one of the wiper tees so I ordered one. I was surprised when a plastic tee showed up. Maybe that's all there is now. I'll just paint it and it won't be noticeable.
