Wes, I finally got a little free time to unbox and take pictures of the back of the gauge set I bought. I've already noticed that the oil pressure gauge is mechanical not electrical so that's a no go. The temp gauge is, apparently, the same way. Still, for the restore I'm going for (budget but original-ish looking) they'll work.

Correctly, No. But it could be made to work. The temp gauge would be easy, but running an oil line up to the gauge panel seems like a bit much.

I was going to re wire the whole thing while it was cold, But the Army had other plans for me and decided I needed to go to another country for 9 months so my M38 is about to be lonely for a bit.

When I get back I'm gonng to do what Wes suggested and sit down with a tester and 24V source and test my sending units. These gauges will just fill the gap for a little while.

well, I found this in a junk pile in the motorpool today.... looks solid and wires are perfect. Considering I've got some 12v trailer lights bubba modded on my M38 this will be a great addition.

Well ... this will be all for about 9 months. I'll be deployed in (opsec) days and won't be able to work on my ol gal.

You be careful and get home safe.

We'll figure out all of this when you get back.

In the meantime, great past time surfing all of the ORDs and manuals!

I can remember those deployment days from the 60's/70's. I sure disliked putting a lid on my life for 6 months at a time back then!

next task is to find correct hoses for the intake! I think armyjeeps or midwest military had them last I looked. There's a few things that aren't going to be M38 correct during my "rebuild", but I really get super excited about the little things I find that are the correct parts.
