Just bought this one. Funny thing that the title says MC19094 but this is no part of the vehicle. It has the original tub tag. The engine is CJ3a.

Wes has already given me some advice on facebook. I just bought a new motor on ebay. I have folks commissioned to do the rebuild/overhaul of it.

Forgive me for the brief entry, I will try to figure out how to post the pics shortly and will appreciate any insights.

Moderators, please pardon me if this latency violates the rules.

Welcome to willysmjeeps and welcome to the world of random jeep parts installed over the years. They can really be confusing at times.

Best of luck on your project!

As Wes was kind enough to point out on Facebook, it has a cj3a windshield which I will try to mod to make it work.

And I'm not sure of the canvas top. Milspec or no?

Proper paint color for a 52 m38

And now for my first question

Rapco sent me this paint as appropriate for my 52m38. However, upon removing a few pieces, I'm seeing an original paint color which is much darker.

Does anyone know where I can get enough of this darker color to paint the whole thing?

As you can tell, the blackout light rim is much lighter.

Is that Forest Green?

That looks like a deep forest green, which is a MC paint. Is or did your m38 go through the marines ? If not , maybe have to go a little farther under for original.

I dont know which branch of service it was. I know the original mc tag but not the service branch.

I prefer the darker/original green but dont know its code or where to buy.

Kindest regards

The late WWII you got from Rapco is as close as you can buy today to
the original OD green the M38 delivered from the factory according to
numerous posts.

Do you have any of the other dash plates? Also. You might check for any
of the Marine mods done to the M38.

Other than the extremely tough undercoating - which this one has - what other mods would i seek. The original data plates are long gone.

You can try and recover the hood numbers if that green is still on the hood.

They will be yellow instead of white.
