Hi....I am new to this form and my M38A1 Series Survey will be posted soon.
I came into a 67' M38A1 CDN2, CFR # 67-08171 built in Feb.1967 by Kaiser Jeep in Windsor, Ontario. It was disposed in 1980 due to a possible accident. It was delivered to CFB Petawawa in 1967 and used exclusively by the 3rd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment. It was discovered in a scrap yard and rebuilt (to motor pool standard) from 2009 to 2011 by a retired military mechanic who had worked on it from 1967 to disposal. (retirement project). Although rebuilt, the mechanic reused many working parts so I have replaced many parts since purchase in 2017.....and still working on it.
In the near future I will have a ton of questions and may possibly be able to respond to some based on my "school of hard knocks" experience working on this jeep in the last year as well as having read many threads from other sites and having done much research on many of the jeeps systems.
Regards,
lesk
