Locating exact hole locations on tub mounts

Hello Brian and Wes,
I don´t know if I just can go on with this thread or have to open another one but I have a question I also can´t find an answer for:
On my frame (late version) on the tub fixation points "#5 left and right" (according to Wes´s description) somebody has enlarged the holes to make the tub fit. It could have been the factory or later the military after some floor body work. So I need the exact position of the center of the original drilled holes in reference to the outside edge of the mounting platforms. Preferably in millimeters. I want to close-weld the "auxiliaries"
Hopefully you have the time and chance to measure it out.

Yours,

Hello Marcus,

next weekend, I can do some measurements for you in cm.

The diagram you have posted, is from a M38.

In the diagram from the M38A1, the brackets are numbered #6 L+R.

#5 will be the brackets for the Gun Mount Pedastal.

So the diagram from Wes Album:

Or I'am wrong?

Sincerely yours,

Hello Frank,
I don't know how the pictures got into my posting, but miracles happen. I actually need the measurements of the fixation points of your last picture (the ones with two holes on one and three holes on the other side). So please measure from the outside edge to the center of the holes and from the front to back. Thanks!

Hello Marcus,
I tried to help you out but should have posted M38A1 frame. I added the correct frame. The machine gun brace legs supports are not considered tub mounts. The #5 supports are bolted in the top of the frame rail just ahead of the rear shocks top mount brackets. The first photo that Frank posted those are actually #6 supports.

The M38A1 ORD 9 parts manual is not a lot of help since it lists all mounting hardware and pads for both the M38A1 & M170.

Thank´s Wes now I know the origin of the pictures. It seems that Frank has a blank frame on hand so he is able to measure the fixing points what he want´s to do on the weekend. Let us see what is the result.
Thanks,

Not the weekend, but today I had some time.

The left one,

the right one.

The primed frame isn't that bare this time.
Uuups, next project in progress.

How should it be different, the next Berlin Brigade related one.
But that's, yet another story to tell.

Sincerely yours

Frank

Moin Frank,
thank you a lot for the information. Luckily this is the only repair job on my frame. So I can do this now after the sandblasting next week. And you really did great work on your first "Berlin" truck.
I guess everybody is interested in the restoration of the M170.

Viele Grüße,
