New here.

A couple early questions: 1) My vacuum pump copper line coming out of the pump has an ID of 2-3 mm, it is extraordinarily small compared to the rubber lines going to the wiper motors. Is this correct? What is the ID of this copper connection? 2) I have a copper vent line that came out of the housing, to the left of the primer handle connection- when facing the unit - BUT it wasn't connected at the other end, so where do I connect it? ( the end of the copper line is not flared or such and the jeep has fording).

I took the liberty to relocate your post to the technical board since it is simply a technical question and does not list details of the progress on your project's restoration which is what the other board is for.

Finally, to get to your question it would help if you posted an annotated photo of the plumbing you are concerned with. Much of your parts description does not quite agree with the IPL (Illustrated Parts List, ORD 9 SNL G-740 (M38 or G-758 M38A1/M170)

Also Willys & the US Army both used the US inch measurement system and the majority of us also use the US Inch system so 2 - 3 mm = 0.0787402 - 0.11811" or 1/16 to 3/32". The two vacuum tubes from the vacuum section of the fuel pump are both 1/4" OD and 3/16" ID. I will try to guess what short piece of copper tubing you referenced may be the short hose connection for the vacuum wipers found at the vacuum "T" fiting.
