M38 at home to do lots of work! So, can I disable the Heat Control Valve? If not where in the manual is it's adjustment?

Thanks,
Aris

Got it, does that mean that I cannot just disable it?

If you remove the plate from within the manifold, your exhaust gases will always circulate around the intake, heating the air and fuel entering the engine causing it to run poorly.

If you try to "disable" it's functionality by holding the plate in the hot position in Wes' photo, your engine will not reach operating temperature as quickly as it should *in colder weather.

If you're missing components I would recommend just repairing it. There is no adjustment once the components are assembled. If your assembly doesn't match the drawings, you probably have a broken spring, which can be easily replaced.

Crystal clear, thanks Jake, it stays there and I'll make sure it works right!
