Historic Jeeps via Google LIFE Photo Archive

Post by cody10414 »

I found this quite interesting and thought I would share...
(just in case you havent stumbled across it yet)

Elliptical Wheel Jeep? (OK, its a tractor)
Glad that one didn't pan out!

WAC Jeep

M38 and M38A1

I wanna cry!

There are dozens if not hundreds more related to jeeps and Military events/equipment. Good search keywords to start with are Jeep, Equipment Testing, Army, Us Armed Forces, Vehicles, Desert Warfare, 1950s, Military, Willys, etc.

Re 'I wanna cry'
That's a really interesting shot and I'll tell you why........ for ages now I've been collecting info from jeeps that were shipped to Europe from Uncle Sam under the Military Aid program of the 50s and 60s.
I get the info from the rebuild tags on the various assemblies, workshop names or numbers.

One tag I have says 'Pusan' I wonder if that is a graveyard from which jeeps were re-built for the Military Aid Program?

And if it is lots of those in the photo will have been rebilut and shipped out.

Makes you wonder.
