TrueTrac Positraction

Hi all,

Quick question.

The previous owner of my M38A1 installed TrueTrac positraction into the rear differential. However, before he gave the jeep to me, he pointed out that the drivers side axle wasn't in correctly - the cap wasn't screwed on all the way. Both wheels spin fine when the yoke is turned and no nasty grinding noises are made (which leads me to believe that perhaps the axle is too long and needs to be shaved down since the guts are different) I didn't open the cover yet, but I will be doing that later today. I was just wondering if you all might be able to give me a few words of advice as to things to look for.

Use the book

If the seller didn't give you the install manual that came with the gear set then get it here:
http://www.eaton.com/Eaton/ProductsServ ... /index.htm
And review the installation for correctness with their install guide.

Yeah, all I have is registration cards (Dated 1978 mind you) for this thing.

Thanks Wes! I have no idea where you find this stuff.
