11 to 13 MPG is the more common performance with the M38. Higher gear sets, overdrives and larger diameter tires can improve that a couple of MPG's. A more modern fuel delivery system could also improve those numbers.

You are not using the odometer and the gas pump meter numbers?

It depends how long the distance is. In these wintertimes here, a short trip for about 15 miles just to warm up and load the batteries, the jeep is consuming a lot. During summer on 100 miles trips the jeep consumes not so much. Using the jeep more often will decrease the fuel consumption.
My excperience is, the more you drive the jeep the less the consumption is.
and of course the speed, about 40 mph has a good mileage, above not.

A throttle body injector and a brain box. But that's a lot of work and a lot of money for the prize.
