Few questions for you all.

Rear seat w/ the A1. Got everything in besides those darn little hooks. Im looking in the manuals, cant find anything. Found two holes on my old back panel (that arent on my new one) that line up w/ the hooks. Anyone have any photos of how theyre supposed to go? The holes in the old panel look like they have welded nuts in them. I obviously wont be able to rip apart that hat channel that spans across the rear panel -- so any suggestions for how to mount these (if those are indeed the correct holes).

#2. Fuel line routing. I can see the diagrams in the SNL G758, but I dont physically see how they go. Is it from the fuel tank pickup supposed to go out of that hole in the horizontal cross memebr on the tub, run across the back of that, and then run along the frame?

Oh yeah, another question.

Whats the common way to get the parking break to work when you have a WARN OD installed? The rod wont clear the Warn unit, so Im going to need an alernate method to make the parking break engage.

Here is a photo of the rear seat of another M38A1.

As for the bolts, I was thinking there was a nut fixed on the inside, but not sure.

Just as you posted this I found it in my 8014 manual on my CD. It just so happens that this page is missing out of my original one.

Yeah theres supposed to be a welded nut in the inside, but I have a repro one, and of course good ole MD Juan didn't put one in there. Any ideas of how to make this a clean fix?

Drill a hole and insert an expanding nut.
These nuts expand as you screw them onto the bolt.

I have used them several times and you can get them most automotive supply places.

My M38A1-C never had a seat originally, came with ammo racks on the floor and "open" tailgate.

I have a military rear seat I want to add, but I need all the mounting hardware. Anyone have some hardware to trade, or detailed photos - maybe I can fabricate what I need?

(I also would like some top-bow holddown brackets.)

Are The M38 and M38A1 rear seat clamps the same? I think they maybe be different.If so I have a set of M38A1 NOS brackets for sale or trade.I would prefer an even trade because I need a set for my M38 if they are different. THANKS Gale

Now to address you missing weld nut problem. Take a new weld nut. Cut a pies of "C" channel steel that will slide inside your rectangular rear channel. drill a hole in it to match the lcoation of the hole you drilled in the rear panel of the jeep. Weld the nut to it's inside surface and slide it in the rear panel channel with the open side of the "C" facing rear. You can use a piece of welding wire to push it into position behind the hole you drilled or you can drag it there with a strong magnet. Voila sliding weld nuts hidden inside the channel.

Asked my dad what to do and he suggested a poprivet. The local a&p and he had four of them I could use. Inserted them, and violla as good as new.
