Eariler this summer a pilot friend of mine gave me his gate code
so i could access our local muni airport. I looked for the FBO but
he wasn't around, i talked to his A/P guy about buying 100LL but
he wouldnt commit. So i've been buying fuel there ever since
(on the sly, always felt like i was sneakin around)
and never ran into the FBO until sunday. He came stomping over,
wanted to know who the heck i was and introduced himself as the
FBO-great i'm gonna get my a$$ chewed and then booted out!!
NOPE!! he wanted a ride in the M-38!! We toured the airport and
when we got back popped the hood and visited the better part of
an hour. He even gave me my own gate code for access. 8)

I've been working aircraft for well over 40 years and the majority of the aviation folks enjoy visiting with any hobbyist who relies on fossil fuels to have his fun!

Very cool! So far the local airports I've checked out are locked up and no one I've talked to seems open to letting non-aircraft folks buy 100LL. Now, if you know of a contact at airports on the Northshore of MA or on Martha's Vineyard that would be great! But, being in the highly liberal and restrictive society of Massachusetts, we're limited in what we can actually do.

That's why I settled in the midwest. (From South Jersey originally) Friendlier as a whole and easier to deal with.

If you have only tight arsed FBO's to deal with then it's time to get to know a private airplane owner on that field.
