I posted this on the g503 site:

Im looking for a 12 volt starter for my 52 M38. It has the early style flat face starter in it. If someone has a converted 24v to 12v I would be willing to trade my working 24v starter.

Ryan,
There were no production 12 volt starters made for the 124 tooth flywheel and small frame starter hole in the bell housing you have.

If you have no luck finding a military unit converted to 12 I suggest you just use either of the CJ3A 6 volt starters (MZ-4137 or MZ-4162) since they will still use the kick pedal start and will work fine with 12 volt as long as you refrain from cranking a no start engine for long periods. If you wish to go with a key start and solenoid instead of the kick start then try the Hudson 6 volt starter MZ-4163.
