The rims came together with the second hand NDCC tires (but never used after manufactured in 2005) that I bought earler this spring. I think it looks quite nice with the black rims, so I will keep it this way.
The OD is mixed and delivered from a Swedish jeep dealer and seems to be a bit lighter than the earlier one on the hood. On the pic it seems even lighter than in real, maybe because I put a layer of car wax on top.
First I had to find the part number on my distributor, which I finally got with the help of a mirror and a magnifying glass, on the under side of the distributor.
Ordered a Pertronix system that arrived in the end of summer.
Very small and very expencive. After installing it and after adjusting the ignition with an old and traditional strobe light, I still find some problems. After releasing the throttle when running on higher engine speed, it farts back in the exhaust pipe. I understand this is because the ignition is to high and the "pre-ignitor expanders" (can't find the English word for it) in the bottom floor of the distributor is not returning to base fast enough. Is there anything I can improve here????
I have also continued restoring the parking brake assembly. But when I got the rear propeller shaft away, I found out that some handy man put a weld spot on the nut holding the brake drum and flange. A lot of grinding with the Dremel finally got the nut loose.
And now I found the flange in a shape beyond recovery.
The brake drum had some time during its Life hit a rock or something else hard enough to make a serious dent inwards, deep enough hopeless for the brake pads to live inside the drum.
So, next on the purchase list is a new brake drum and a new flange, the oil seal and a new nut is already in my garage.
During the summer I have also fullfilled my wifes requirement: I will not ride in the jeep unless there are safety belts in it. So I purchased two belts earlier used in a bus.

the distributor uses a centrifugal advance system, the way to make it return faster is to replace the springs on the weights as they weaken with time. Also check the weights and posts for wear.

Any corrosion or drag on the (Governor or centrifugal advance mechanism in US) will cause your ignition to not return to 5 degrees before TDC fast enough from the fly weight induce 11 to 15 degrees advance. The answer is to thoroughly clean and lube the flyweight system.
I have illustrations for the military distributor but I see you have a civilian distributor. They are very similar but I have the data for the civilian distributor as well and will see if I can get it uploaded here this evening.
The entire chapter on the rebuilding & repair of that distributor is on our downloads page. _________________ Wes K

Thanks Robert, I will look once more on the springs, but as far as I can see everything looks nice and clean.
Wes, I will lubricate the moving parts, for some improvment on function.
When I with force turn the distributor shaft clockwise I can find a small play after a clicking movement. Does this means that the arrangement is worn or shall this play be there?
The distributor shaft should rotate smoothly and freely (no clicking) opposite normal direction of distributor for about 10 degrees and you should feel the resistance of the springs. Then when you release the shaft it should spring quickly and smoothly back to it's original position. Any behavior different from this means you should remove the base plate that your pertronics is mounted on and investigate. _________________ Wes K

I copied Jan-Olaf's post here so his original project could continue to be followed easily. Wes K
Hi again.
Been a while since I last wrote anything on this forum, time passes so fast.
My story about the rear seat goes like this: During the summer I found a new built rear seat frame on Ebay for about $140 which was OK with me. Then came $86 for the freight. OK, if I want the rear seat, I have to pay for the freight. When it arrived to Sweden I had to pay an extra $108 for customs fee and VAT (gosh). I went to my friend the "Car and yacht top dressmaker" and paid him an extra $108 for the cushions. So I think this made it the most expencive rar seat I ever seen, but what could you expect....... and I think it is rather pretty.

I have also continued with my work on the parking brake. A new flange was easy to find, but a new parking brake drum was not easy, it took about 2 months to get a usable one, but now I am on with the last phase of the assembly.
Tied up in the garage
Work ongoing

And before I finish this post I would like to show you that there are several different geeks in Sweden. These 2 gas stations I found during travel in Sweden last summer.

Today I got the date and time for my registration inspection, so I can get the licence plates. This will take place on December 22. Wish me luck, I will need it.

Hi again guys
Today me and my A1 went to the Authorities Test Center for the registration inspection. It ended up with an OK in the tic box and we got the licence number PTE601, so now I can legally ride on the roads.
I think this was the best Christmas present I could get.
Jan-Olaf, congratulations and a Merry Christmas to you and your family. _________________ Wes K
