I recently read the waterproof distributer service info over on the Yahoo site and was suprised to see the flyweights refered to as govenor weights. Am I missunderstanding , I thought they are for timing advance. Do they retard the timing at high engine speed? _________________ Getting Dirty with my 1953 m38a1 or my 1955 m37
They govern the rate of advance by either both advancing and less advancing (in escence retarding) _________________ Wes K

Thanks for clearing that up. I've been having acceleration trouble under load lately. Last spring you warned me about using an old kit in my carb , since I already had it I used it anyway. Worked great for a while, now I am waiting for the new kit from midwest and a fuel pump kit while I'm at it. Thanks for the advice I should have ordered the kit sooner. Some day I'll learn to trust the experience of my peers _________________ Getting Dirty with my 1953 m38a1 or my 1955 m37
