It is correct clamp (it's got a coat of black paint or powder coat-it came that way) and I have it installed in the correct holes.

The brake works. Like I said, I had to cut the link and rebend it to make all this work.
The fake cable was too long, and the threaded portion was too long, the one I got from MWM worked.

Crossed off the short list.

I installed my floor drains yesterday after I picked up my Diesel from the Vet. Not much left on that short less.
I kind of need my intake/exhaust manifold to move on.

Understand that wire link should be heat treated. Simple bent wire will eventually unbend.

I described it poorly.
The cable is clamped here:

6 and Y almost touch each other on my keyboard.
I typo stuff all the time.
Mostly because I use my thumbs.

Shipwrecked is a gem.
I hope April will post us a nice all-around glamour video on YT.

Picked up the manifold today. They said it was way out f spec and would never have sealed before.
Smart to have them take it down flat.

As for shipwrecked, I I'll do one. I did one like 5 years ago, but since it's running, I will do another. So easy to start and shift. I look forward to driving it.

So I spent time fixing that brake cable. It was two hours of my life ill never get back. That was not worth the effort.it worked the way itwas, and trying to bend that clip to fit over the cable end was an adventure of vice grip, a ball peen hammer, vice and a anvil. It now looks like hammered dog poop.

I installed the intake/exhaust manifold. Went on very nicely.

Installed my exhaust pipes and muffler. Have some touch up paint to do.

Quick fit of the coolant hoses.

Hammered the old crusty thermostat retainer out. Got one coming later this week.

Got a bunch of leave days coming up over next few weeks. Plan to finish this jeep and go for a drive.

Hi April,
There's more than a few posts on the vintage jeep forums, including this one, about poorly fitting exhaust pipes, mainly the long one being the culprit.

Disgruntled folks say they have to be "tweaked" to fit, with some debate over what the overall length of that pipe should be versus what vendors sell.

Did yours fit ok without a fight?
If yes, for future reference, where did you buy it?

Thanks!

For real- Zero issues. I'm pretty sure I got it from KW.

I loosely hung s c erything in place, put the middle support on, the tightened it all up.

I believe the problem some folks have with exhaust systems is they start at one end bolting parts down then are frustrated with alignment near the end of the run. You're spot on April.. hang it, align it, tighten it.

So when's the big run up and drive?

Not sure. I have Monday and Tuesday leave.

Heck, I got home from work tonight, sat down and typed my previous reply and then woke up 3 hours later with a splitting head ache and now a sore throat. I will need to go get tested tomorrow- I may be sick for a few days, I never take naps so this is not normal.
I haven't been sick in 4 years. Having had head/neck cancer (almost 10 years ago)- head colds are brutal. Hope it's just a cold and not the rona. I will be super mad if it is. I had a "war buddy" - dude I was stationed with in middle east in 2010-12 stay here over weekend. We went to see another of our deployment friends who now has Parkinsons (from our deployment) and they are also all sick now accordomg to a text i got when i woke up,

If I'm gonna be home, I have a few things I can work on like wipers, fuel pump, carb, throttle and choke cables, and a fuel line to install. That's all really on my punch list.
