Hello all,
I've a feeling I've asked this before but I searched and can't find it.
Anyway, I took along my swivel bearing part number from my TM for both the cage and cup to my local bearing suppiler expecting to be able to get or order them.

In the past with M35s and M54 series type trucks the bearing dealer has not had a problem supplying bearings from the number in the TM (no chance with a Willys number), I guess he has a cross ref or something, also those M series have been on our Civvy market for many many years.

So I handed the guy the number from the TM and it was no good, no cross ref this side of the pond. Apparantly the number was too short??
He then said the usual, 'Are they the same as Land Rover ones?

I could I guess order them from a jeep parts shop, but it's much easier to drop into the bearing dealer near where I live. I could also knock a bearing out and take that along but it risks a disabled jeep and means two small jobs instead of one bigger one.

So does anybody have a more modern number than the TM number from the 50s for the swivel bearings. OR.... is the TM number a true bearing number and I just got he wrong guy on the counter??

many thanks,
Dave.
