Or maybe just some info. I just received my soft top hardware for my m38 and was wondering why the nuts are welded on the outboard side of the bracket? Are you supposed to run the bolt from the inside out? Or am I completely missing something here. By the way it's the front and rear storage brackets that are like this. Yhanks

Yes, they mount on the outside of the tub and bolt from the inside out...

Buy a copy on CD from Military Media... using adobe it is great you can search for things, at least get into the ball park...

I printed mine out on 3 hole paper, both sides and have a copy to keep in the garage... great in the event I damage a page, just print a new one out...

Is this what you are looking for:

Bolts for the front and rear storage brackets...

BRACKET, top bow stowage, rear, w/weld NUTS (welded)
BOLT, INTEGRAL LOCK WASHER, int-tooth type, hex-hd, header-pt, S, cd or zn-fin, 1/4-20NC-2 x 5/8 (6 EA)

Bolts for the front bracket where the bows bolt to it...

BRACKET, top bow stowage, w/weld NUTS (welded)...
SCREW, lock washer, hex-hd, header-pt, S, cd or znpltd, 3/8-16NC-2 x 3/4 (superseded by SCREW, H101-0451976) (2EA)
SCREW, MACHINE, hex-hd, w/spring lock washer, S, cd or zn-pltd, 3/8-16UNC-2A x 3/4 (supersedes SCREW, G740-7697438)
