To all our vets

Post by idiocrates »

Just wanted to send out a heart-felt thank you to all of our vets and active duty military on this day of rememberance. Thanks to my dad (WWII), my grand dad (WWI), and everyone else whose years of service to this country have helped make it....and kept it..... the greatest place on earth. Thanks.
Jim

Ditto, my Dad, 2 Uncles and grand dad in WWII, myself, two brothers and a cousin in Vietnam, my nephew, son and son-in-law Iraq/Afghanistan.

Both the real hero's who only have the grave markers and all the fortunate who returned.

Here's a good read about the not so fortunate that are now returning home.

A salute to all Veterans and current servicemen. I'm driving my recently restored M38A1 in today's Veterans Day Parade in Birmingham, Alabama. The parade here is billed as the largest in the U.S. Our club, the Dixie Division MV Club is the 701st element in the parade out of a total of about 1200 elements. It's going to be a long day.

Hopefully Chuck will come. I saw him Saturday at our annual get together at Tannehill State Park. He's mostly restoring M274 "Mules" right now. Chucks a great guy.

Parade is over now. 2 1/2 Hours of idling and riding the clutch! The M38A1 did great. If anyone has an opportunity to participate in a parade of any type, I strongly suggest it. It will restore your faith in the American public to see the patriotism and respect shown to the troops as well as us humble restorers. America is still alive and well!
