The US Army already had planned to phase the HMMVE out, but that production is still US owned and operated - separate from the GM HUMMER brand. We're moving to M-ATV, a smaller, more mobile MRAP that works better in Afghanistan and other places over the large, top-heavy MRAPs we currently use here in Iraq.
