WWII jeep serial numbers

I know nothing about this! A friend ask me if I knew if the date the WWII jeep was made is in some of the numbers in the serial number that is on the the frame and dash data plate. (I know they should match) Any info about this would be appreciated.

It's not in the serial number but it is listed seperately on the glove box mounted serial plate as the DOD or date of delivery.
