Problem adding photos

I have an existing album but have not uploaded any pictures for a while, I get to the very end and click on upload image it brings up a window that says processing status but nothing happens from there. This is a new computer, is there some setting I have to activate ?

That is usually caused by too large a photo file. Keep your photo file sizes at or below 500K.
